Always learning

We subscribe to the Small Business Britain app and I cannot tell you how many useful resources there are on there. We’ve been learning about cyber security, marketing, Instagram, legalities for small businesses and search engine optimisation.

It’s free and we are so grateful to the team there for the quality of the webinars and the free resources. We aim to schedule some time each week for learning. Every day is a school day, right? Our backgrounds are not in retail, so there is always so much to learn. This week we listed to Samantha Hancock from Derbyshire Police talking about cyber security. It made me immediately make a few changes to our site, my phone and devices. It was so useful, and hopefully will make us a little bit less at risk of an attack.

The session from Lucy Wheeler, at Lucy Legal was a solid session on all the legal things we need to make sure we have got covered to run small business. Luckily we were covered in most of the areas, but she provided us with a great checklist to use and we’ll review it every year to make sure we stay up to date and compliant.
